There’s no competing with Migos on “Big On Big”

Culture is 2017’s first great album, a monster from start to finish finding Offest, Quavo and Takeoff hitting their P.R. You already know “T-Shirt,” “Call Casting” and “Bad and Boujee,” but the deep cuts are just as rewarding. Take the mid-show highlight “Big On Big,” featuring yet another A+ production from Zaytoven, complete with his trademark gorgeous keys. What makes “Big On Big” such a force is how irreplicable it is. While artists have co-opted the triplet flow Migos popularized (though not created) since they burst onto the scene, the trio’s chemistry is unparalleled, as is the way Zaytoven’s beat weaves in and out of the maze the Migos create. Try as you might, there’s no matching them.
