Future’s masterful new LP Honest doesn’t drop until this coming Tuesday (22 April), but the album has been available for streaming over at MTV since the beginning of this week. While that stream failed to include the crucial André 3000-featuring “Benz Friendz (Whatchutola)”, the penultimate track on the standard version of Honest has found on its way onto the internet, via Miss Info.
The track is a victory lap for Future, as the ATL-born rapper finds himself rapping with Atlanta hip-hop icon André 3000 of OutKast. A delicious operatic vocal sample is the perfect backdrop for the track, which finds Future and 3-Stacks deriding materialistic people, with André rapping on the hook, “I told that bitch I don’t give a fuck about a Benz, bitch / And I don’t want no bitch who need to have that kind of friendship.” On his verse, Dré is as smooth as ever, a glaring reminder of what hip-hop is missing the more years go by without new OutKast music. But the future is in good hands, seeing as how Honest stuns from beginning to end.
