Label Speedy Wunderground runs an interesting gimmick, wherein each track released through the label is recorded and mixed in a 24-hour time frame. Such a small window would be a challenge for any artist, but the quick turnaround makes for some great, spontaneous cuts that succeed based on their imperfections. Juce, a new three-piece girl group featuring Cherish, Georgia and Chalin, recently recorded and released “Braindead,” a wonderful slice of electro/dream pop. Recalling the shape-shifting work of Jai Paul, “Braindead” bounces with a kinetic energy, while the three vocalists each shine with a clear vision and a raw talent. Just imagine what they could come up with in 48 hours.
