Swearin’ is the brilliant musical outlet from Allison Crutchfield, whose sister Katie already released one of the year’s best albums under the Waxahatchee name. With “Dust In The Gold Sack,” Allison provides a thrilling dose of 90s-inspired alternative rock. It’s a much needed respite from the predominate sounds in music this year, fitting in nicely with Waxahatchee and Torres and Savages, and in the process giving alternative a strong feminine presence in a genre that sorely lacked one for many years.
Wichita Records will release the second studio LP from Swearin’ on 4 November. The album is titled Surfing Strange.
