If he’s not the hardest working, he’s certainly the hardest rocking man in America. His name is Ty Segall, and while he readies the release of his 20 August solo album Sleeper, he is already announcing his next musical endeavor, as a member of the newly formed Fuzz, featuring Segall on drums/vocals, guitarist Charlie Moothart, as well as bassist Roland Cosio. The just release “Loose Sutures” should sonically not come to a surprise to anyone acquainted with Segall’s discography. Segall’s ability to gel his stoner/hard rock tendencies with earworm melodies continues to astound. Moothart drops an excellent solo midway through. A lot of people say that rock is dead. Those people aren’t listening.
Fuzz is out 1 October through In The Red. Download “Loose Sutures” below, via Pitchfork.
