Leah Siegel writes and performs as Firehorse, creating music that she describes as a mix of and Feist, Florence + The Machine, Jeff Buckley. With a listen to her latest tease off her upcoming LP, it’s hard to explain her any other way. “Fool,” contains the beauty and grief pouring out of Buckley’s music, the restraint of Leslie Feist and the vocal tenacity of Florence Welch. Her ability to balance the scales and create her own identity is aided by backing players who have worked with the likes of Loudon Wainwright III and Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings.
Pills From Strangers is out via Tijuana Gift Shop on 25 June 2013.
