This year’s Record Store Day featured one of the best lineups of exclusive releases the annual event has seen. As previously mentioned, MGMT released their new single in celebration of the local record shops. Also contributing to the day’s festivities was Nicolas Jaar, who unleashed his reworked version of the Grizzly Bear single “Sleeping Ute,” off of their fantastic 2012 album Shields. Daniel Rossen’s vocals sound at home in the new surroundings, with Jaar taking the incredible guitar riff and turning it into the backbone of the beat.
The track stretches on for over 8 minutes, yet every second is necessary for this remix to resonate the way that it does. Consider this just another example of the high quality output in Jaar’s ever-growing discography.
