Instead of resolving, you know, important issues, some members of Congress want to investigate a vacation JAY Z and Beyoncé took to Cuba. Responding to the claims in the best way he can, Hov unleashed “Open Letter” on Thursday with the track also serving as a reminder that Jay is the most influential rapper alive. Timbaland continues his hot streak, picking up where he left off from his production efforts on The 20/20 Experience, with Swizz Beats also lending a hand in the production. A sound reminiscent of The Blueprint era, JAY Z milks the beat for all its worth, boasting from the get-go, “I done turn Havana into Atlanta” before turning his attention to his detractors in Washington, brushing off their threats of an investigation by biting, “Let me commit a real crime.”
It remains to be seen if this is the first taste of JAY Z’s first solo album since The Blueprint 3, but if this is the direction he’s leading us on, then we should all start packing our bags.
